Transport

Our transport links in Enfield are struggling to cope.

Our public transport system is over stretched, and not entirely 'fit for purpose'

We want people to use public transport as much as possible, and yet the train and bus services in Enfield don't encourage use. For example the east west links across the borough are poor. If you want to get from Ordnance Road to Chase Farm hospital it will require two buses and plenty of patience! Nick has recently been attending meetings with TFL to lobby with other bus users for a change to this situation. It will get even worse when Labour do close down our A&E and consultant led maternity services and move them to Barnet.  We deserve better.

Our trains are vital for so many people who commute into London on a daily basis.

Enfield has two rail operators. National Express and First Capital Connect. We are working with commuters to try and improve the services as part of our Enfield Rail Campaign which has the following objectives;

We want reliable trains

With safe, clean and manned stations

We want to ensure Enfield commuters get their fair share of the extra rolling stock available from the Rail Operators.

Nick and the campaign team are regularly at stations meeting commuters and the Rail Operators management to lobby for support. They issue newsletters and report back on what progress is being made.

Only a Conservative Government is likely to end the years of underinvestment in our community. That's why we need change.

I travel into London on the trains regularly, and would continue to do so if I am elected as your MP. That is the only way to keep in touch with the reality of what passengers have to put up with. Tell me your experiences of our Bus and Train services and any improvements that you would like to see.
