Nick de Bois was elected as the MP for Enfield North in May this year.
Nick's role in poltics over the last few years has been as Enfield North's representative in the Conservative Party. Nick first stood for Parliament in Enfield North in 2001. He showed great commitment to Enfield by standing again in 2005. He stood as candidate for the third time this year; after 10 years as the Conservative candidate, he became the Conservative MP for Enfield North on 6 May 2010.
Nick was born into a Service family at RAF Princess Elizabeth hospital, Ely. He now lives in Chase ward, Enfield and has four grown up children - Jessica (24), Laura (22), Madeleine (21) and Alex (19). Nick is a keen traveller, football and rugby fan. Two of his daughters are away at University, with his eldest studying to be a doctor at Barts & London School of Medicine. His youngest daughter Madeleine is in her final year at Nottingham University, whilst Laura works in a live events company. Alex, his son, is in Costa Rica undertaking three months of voluntary work. In November 2009 Nick was lucky enough to marry Helen.
Before becoming an MP, Nick was Managing Director of a medium sized marketing agency based in nearby Ware. He therefore brings extensive experience of business to his role as MP for Enfield North - a constituency that needs to see more jobs and businesses move into the area. His recent campaign, 'Backing Local Business', encouraged people to use local shops and businesses at a time when they desperately need help.
